  • there was a pod

Oh we chatted and spilld the sour cream. There was laughter and weird noises, and a sense of new times in the air. Yeah, but in swedish. Also, I selected some great tunes.

  • Kaputt is coming

There were kind words spoken, written actually. In Swedish.

  • Gothenburg Fringe Festival

Oh Gothenburg, fun this will be! Welcome to enjoy useless music, distorted anger and harsh words at the Abyss – a metal and comedy scene (sic!). Sunday September 7, I will be performing my open sound experiment ”impulse”.

    • ”Impuls” is a sound experiment exploring a lifetime of tantrums and short fuses burning constantly.

Performed by Svenska jack, a brutal sound artist performing in English, Swedish and gibberish-ish.•

Anger is actually based on impulses, so are electronics. If we can’t control the one, maybe the other might help. The impulse is just the beginning, the rest is up to the conducting material. “Impuls” is an open sound experiment, and you are invited as a witness.

Event Details: September 7, 18:00 at the Abyss, Andra Långgatan 35

Genre: Music Spoken Word & Visual Art

    Duration: 45 mins

Price: pay what you want from 50 SEK, full prise 120 kr (or more).

  • space

The one facing me, tweaking a very small Bastl machine, is Rickard. He runs a venue called Rymden (Space), they create spaces for artists , screamers and soft spoken dreamers. Thank you Rickard for housing my machines during the fifth edition of the experimental open stage called ”Scenen”, which means ”the Stage”, there is no point calling a spade a porcupine here. A space is a space and a stage is a stage. Clearly. Anyway.

Last saturday me, the other artists and the hostess Pernilla, in the shape of roman goddess Juno of course, entered the stage in the space for an inspired experience. Poetry, comedy, music and sound art on a fuzzy platform together with a loving audience. What a gig.

On my second set for the evening I invited bystanders to participate in the making of arrhythmic beats, disturbing timbres and hysterical melodies. That’s when Rickard got in the picture and Lisa took said picture on a stage in a space in space. Yes love, that was saturday.

  • scored points

Just finished the course Introduction to Music Production and Creative Music Making  at Gothenburg University. Behold the feedback I got after my final exam.

“This is a highly experimental and intriguing work. The use of fragmented spoken word within a floating, atmospheric soundscape creates a suggestive and intimate listening experience that floats smoothly from stillness to high intensity. It’s clear that you’ve approached this piece with a strong artistic vision, and the result feels thoughtful and unique.

Overall, this is a well-executed and engaging sound art piece. You have passed the assignment – well done. Thank you for attending this course, and best of luck in your future music making.”

So, that is fun. Do you feel the same way?

  • ström & brus

Small and great festival in the outskirts of outskirts. DIY stage in old factory, also fancy pizza. People were kind, interested and interesting. Wild, fearless and mesmerising music fled the speakers and bounced around the souls.

For me, the challenge is the audience. I need a spoken word detox. No need to charm people, it is overrated and a dirty trick. I am no longer the instrument, not even the vessel. I am just the conductor. Sounds, signals and released ideas are the act now. Not me.

Also – I must stop fearing the weird. The weird is in me, it is flowing through the machines and it must be heard even outside of the studio. The people can handle it, they are stranger than me. Get a grip dammit. More noise. Less nice!
